We are a local, independent driving school set up by two very experienced driving instructors. Our aim is to provide professional, patient and structured driving lessons within the London Borough of Bromley.

Pete McGrath and Gary Birch have been driving instructors for 16 and 20 years respectively. We have both always been awarded high grades by the Driving Standards Agency, and really enjoy teaching, which is reflected in our manner during your lessons. The lessons are planned to a syllabus, and we try to cover a new subject each lesson as there are many tasks to achieve. This will then reduce the total number of lessons needed, and the cost of learnng, rather than wasting time just aimlessly driving around. We strive to teach you to become a safe and alert driver, and for you to enjoy your lessons - please see our testimonials section for comments from previous pupils. We do not smoke, and provide a polite, patient and friendly service with guidance tailored to your individual needs. We both have very high test pass rates.

Our cars are brand new, normally replaced every 12 - 18 months, and are kept clean, tidy and fully maintained. They are dual controlled for you peace of mind, and fitted with the latest safety features.

Lessons are one to one, with collection from your home, work or school, arranged at your convenience. If you have any questions or queries, or wish to book, please do not hesitate to contact us either by email or by telephone using the 'contact us' link in the menu. We hope you find this website useful.

Changes to the Practical Driving Test - Independent Driving

We recently attended a meeting with the DSA and can confirm the following. From October 2010 the Practical Driving test is being updated - . the examiner will only request one manoueuvre, rather than the current two (this will still be chosen from turn in the road, reversing round a corner, or reverse parking). The emergency stop may or may not be conducted, as is at present. The main change to the test will be a period during the test of Independent Driving. At some point the examiner will ask the candidate to park, and will then be requested to drive for a period of about 10 minutes independently, without direction. This will be by a combination of following direction signs to a town or place, or a series of 3 or 4 verbal directions given together, or looking at a very basic drawing of 3 or 4 directions. The standard of driving required, marking system and the length of the test remain unchanged. As more information becomes available, we will update these pages.
